Kabusecha means tea that is "covered" and is, as it names tells, a tea where the teabush is covered to create shadow while the young buds grow. Kabusecha is covered for ca. 2-20 days and is hand picked. Together with Gyokuro and matcha this is among de most expensive teas in japan. The shadow perios gives the leaves higher levels of amino acids, caffeine and essential oils, giving kabusecha an especially rich flavourprofile.
